Sadly
we have made the decision to cancel our planned tour to
Derbyshire this year due to a lack of interest. Thank you to all of you
who responded (yes/no/maybe) - The majority of players have responded
and it has become clear that we lack the numbers required to cover the
cost of accomodation, match balls and teas that we would require, let
alone have the numbers to actually raise a side to play the matches. We
have already notified the teams we were due to play, and hope to have
sufficient numbers to have a tour in May 2020.
In
other news, we have also been notified that Braintree have withdrawn
from the NECL, meaning that the Sunday team have had their season
reduced to 10 league fixtures, starting on Sunday 2nd June. With this in
mind, we are in the process of trying to arrange some Sunday friendly
fixtures; we already have two in place against South Loughton and
Boreham and are seeking more. Also, we have accepted an invite to play
in a charity 6-a-side cricket tournament in Castle Park on Saturday 20th
April.
An updated fixture list will be circulated before the season starts once we
have further details on friendly matches that we are still
seeking/arranging.
