The Cavaliers Tour XI travelled to Chatsworth House yesterday, and batted first after the home side won the toss.
The Cavs got off to a slow but steady start, reaching 21/2 after 8 overs - E Parry (6) and M Vinter (10) the dismissed batsmen. A third wicket partnership of 38 got the Cavaliers past 50, but the wicket of P Sadler (24) was soon followed by D Dellar (12) and K Chowdhury (2). A sixth wicket partnership of 39 from P Johnson and N Hussain saw the score pass 100 before Hussain (26) was also out. The Cavs then lost regular wickets, with L Peaple (4), D Young (0) and N Davidson (4) all departing, leaving P Johnson (20*) and T Mayhew (1*) undefeated as the innings closed on 123/9 from 40 overs.
The second innings saw the Cavaliers take early wickets through N Davidson (8-0-27-1) and T Mayhew (8-1-15-3), the latter seeing N Hussain take a screamer off of his bowling. Hussain then backes up his batting and fielding efforts with 8-1-18-4 while P Johnson (2-0-10-0) and K Chowdhury (7-0-24-0) provided support at the other end. With Chatsworth passing 100, skipper Chowdhury turned to P Sadler (1.2-0-5-2) who claimed the last two wickets to fall - Chatsworth ending on 107 all out from 34.2 overs as the Cavs won by 16 runs.
