Defeat at the Garrison

The Property Book Cavaliers faced The Real Oddies tonight in the CECL at the garrison ground.
Fielding first, the Cavs opening bowlers N Davidson (3-0-22-0) & K Jayasinghe (4-0-25-0) did well without reward on a tricky pitch before the Oddies batsmen, M Hall (39) and J Hambrook went on the attack, with JJ Elliston (3-0-35-0) and S Pillalamarri (2-0-29-0) having to bowl at the well-set batsmen. The Cavaliers finally enjoyed some success with J Lawson, as he broke the opening stand of 111 before having the Oddies #3 caught in the deep by Elliston on his way to figures of 2-0-11-2. The Oddies continued to attack, ending on 145/2, with N Jalib (1-0-22-0) the other bowler used. Hambrook ended the innings on 71*.
The PBUK reply saw N Davidson (4) and D Dellar (0) out cheaply to leave the score on 12/2 before S Pillalamarri (11) combined with opening batsman N Jalib in a third wicket stand of 25. The wicket of Pillalamarri led to two more quick wickets, with J Corcos (1) and M Rackowe (0) the ones to go. A sixth wicket partnership of 29 between Jalib and G Moncrieff (16) was followed by a partnership of 27 between Jalib and Elliston (7*) before Jalib was caught for 44. A wicket off the final ball of the innings (J Lawson for 0) meant the Cavaliers finished on 98/8, losing by 47 runs.
